01 — About these terms

Using Piazono.

By downloading, installing, activating or using Piazono, you agree to these Terms of Use.

If you do not agree with these terms, you should not install, activate or use the software.

These terms apply to the Piazono desktop application, its associated licence and related services provided directly by Piazono.

03 — The software

What Piazono is.

Piazono is desktop piano-training software designed primarily for use with a compatible MIDI keyboard.

Features may include, depending on the software version:

The exact features available may vary between versions of Piazono.

04 — System requirements

Before installing Piazono.

You are responsible for checking that your computer and equipment meet the stated system requirements before purchasing Piazono.

The current minimum requirements are:

A MIDI keyboard is required for the intended Piazono piano-practice experience.

Compatibility with every MIDI device, audio interface, driver or computer configuration cannot be guaranteed.

05 — Free trial

Try before you buy.

Piazono may be downloaded and evaluated during a free 7-day trial period.

No credit card is required to start the free trial.

The trial is intended to allow you to check that Piazono works correctly with your computer, MIDI equipment and intended workflow before purchasing a licence.

When the trial period expires, a valid Piazono licence is required to continue using the licensed functionality of the application.

Attempting to circumvent, reset or manipulate the trial mechanism without authorisation is not permitted.

06 — Purchase

Buying Piazono.

Piazono is currently offered as a one-time software licence rather than a recurring subscription, unless a different purchase option is clearly stated at checkout.

The price and any applicable taxes are displayed before completion of the purchase.

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record for Piazono transactions.

Your payment transaction is therefore also subject to Lemon Squeezy's applicable checkout terms and policies.

07 — Software licence

What your purchase gives you.

Purchasing Piazono does not transfer ownership of the software or its source code to you.

Instead, you receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive licence to install and use Piazono in accordance with these terms.

Unless a different activation limit is clearly stated at the time of purchase, one standard Piazono licence may be activated on up to two computers.

The licence is intended for use by the person who purchased it and may not be shared with unrelated users as a substitute for purchasing additional licences.

08 — Licence activation

Activating Piazono.

A valid licence key is required to activate the full version of Piazono after the trial period.

Piazono uses Lemon Squeezy's licensing infrastructure to validate licence keys and manage permitted activations.

An internet connection is required for initial licence activation and may occasionally be required for licence validation.

Piazono may periodically verify that an activated licence remains valid.

A licence may fail to activate if its permitted activation limit has already been reached, if the licence has been disabled or revoked, or if the licensing service cannot validate it.

09 — Changing computer

Moving your licence.

If you replace a computer and a previous activation prevents you from activating Piazono on the replacement machine, contact Piazono Support.

Email: support@piazono.com

You may be asked to provide the email address used for the purchase, your order number and information necessary to identify the relevant activation.

Piazono may release or reset an old activation where appropriate after reviewing the request.

10 — Permitted use

Personal use of the software.

You may use Piazono for lawful personal, educational, musical and professional practice purposes within the scope of your licence.

You may create and retain your own recordings, MIDI files and other output generated from your own performances, subject to any rights that may exist in the underlying musical material.

Your Piazono licence does not grant you rights to music, compositions, recordings, MIDI files or other third-party material that you do not otherwise have permission to use.

11 — Prohibited use

What you may not do.

Except where expressly permitted by applicable law, you must not:

12 — Your files

Recordings and practice data.

Piazono may create and store files locally on your computer, including practice information, recordings, MIDI files, exported audio and application settings.

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of files that are important to you.

Uninstalling software, replacing a computer, deleting files or experiencing a storage failure may result in loss of locally stored information.

13 — Updates

Software updates.

Piazono may receive maintenance releases, compatibility updates, security fixes, interface changes and feature improvements.

Features may be added, modified or removed as the software evolves.

Future major versions or additional products may be offered under separate terms or pricing.

A one-time Piazono licence does not automatically guarantee access to every future product or separately sold major version unless expressly stated.

14 — Third-party components

Software used by Piazono.

Piazono may include, use or interact with third-party libraries, fonts, audio technology, software components and online services.

Third-party components may be subject to their own copyright notices and licence terms.

Nothing in these Terms of Use changes any rights or obligations that apply directly under those third-party licences.

15 — Availability

Service availability.

Reasonable efforts are made to maintain Piazono and supporting services.

However, software, websites and online licensing services may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, technical problems, network failures or circumstances outside Piazono's reasonable control.

Continuous or error-free availability cannot be guaranteed.

16 — Support

Getting help.

Technical and licence-related support is available through:

support@piazono.com

When contacting support, please provide enough information to identify and investigate the issue.

Support response times are not guaranteed unless a specific service level has been expressly agreed.

17 — Refunds

Refund requests.

Information concerning refunds is provided separately in the Piazono Refund Policy.

Please review: Refund Policy

Nothing in the Refund Policy or these Terms of Use is intended to exclude or restrict mandatory consumer rights that apply under applicable law.

18 — Privacy

Personal information.

Information about how personal data is collected and processed is provided in the Piazono Privacy Policy.

Please review: Privacy Policy

19 — Intellectual property

Ownership of Piazono.

Piazono, its software, source code, user interface, branding, graphics, documentation and other original material are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Except for the limited software licence expressly granted under these terms, no ownership rights in Piazono are transferred to the user.

Third-party material remains the property of its respective rights holders.

20 — Suspension and termination

Misuse of a licence.

A licence may be suspended, disabled or revoked where reasonably necessary in response to fraud, unauthorised distribution, licence-key sharing, circumvention of the licensing system or another serious breach of these terms.

Where reasonably possible, genuine customer-support issues will be investigated before permanent action is taken.

Suspension or termination under this section does not affect any mandatory rights that cannot legally be excluded.

21 — Legal guarantees

Mandatory consumer protections.

If you purchase Piazono as a consumer, you may benefit from mandatory legal guarantees and remedies under the law applicable to your purchase, including rules relating to the conformity of digital content and digital services.

Nothing in these Terms of Use excludes, restricts or replaces any legal guarantee, remedy or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

22 — Disclaimer and liability

Reasonable limits.

Piazono is intended as a piano practice and music-training tool. It does not guarantee any particular educational, musical, professional or performance outcome.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Piazono is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses resulting from the use or inability to use the software.

You remain responsible for maintaining backups of important recordings, MIDI files, practice data and other files.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

Nothing in these terms limits statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.

23 — Changes to these terms

Future versions of these terms.

These Terms of Use may be updated when Piazono's software, licensing model, services or legal requirements change.

The latest version will be published on this page together with its effective or last-updated date.

Material changes will not retroactively remove mandatory rights that already apply to an existing purchase.

24 — General provisions

General terms.

If any provision of these Terms of Use is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

A failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not necessarily constitute a waiver of that provision.

These terms should be read together with the Piazono Privacy Policy and Refund Policy.
